All of programs are created from the foundation of the A-Game Framework, which is our trademarked self-improvement framework to learn martial arts, and other life skills that support building confidence, belief in yourself, and striving for mastery.
This framework y is applied across the main skill areas of Jiujitsu:
Survive > Defend > Escape > Control > Submit
Students will apply these skills across the various positions of Jiujitsu. In addition, they will learn fundamental striking with hands, feet, knees and elbows to manage all aspects of distance in an aggressive confrontation.
While our students learn to develop individual skills, they will also learn how to work within a team environment. We have 5 Team Values that all students must adhere to:
1. Work Hard
2. Try Your Best
3. Have Fun
4. Give Back
5. Never Give Up
These skills contribute to more confident, focused, disciplined children and young adults.
Our Talon Martial Arts Program is a 9 belt system before the achievement of Gray belt. These 9 belts will help ensure that all children have a foundation of the following:
- Boxing strikes
- Front Kicks and Thai-power kicks
- Clinch Strikes (Knees and Elbows)
- Standup Grappling (Clinching)
- Takedowns and Trips
- Jiujitsu (Guards, Pins, and Submission)

Once kids achieve Belt #9, they are invited to the Black Belt Team (BBT). This is where sport Jiujitsu is introduced. The sport of Jiujitsu and Self-Defense are different, because the rules are different.
We partner with our affiliate Evolve Academy and family academies Groundswell MMA and 2nd Gear BJJ to offer in-house competition opportunities. We also partner with Controlled Combat which is Coach Mike's tournament organization that offers family-friendly opportunities to compete in a structured environment.

Talon Martial Arts
BRAZILIAN JIUJITSU
The root of our martial arts programs, is on using the most efficient and exceptionally effective form of martial arts, which is Brazilian Jiujitsu. Brazilian Jiujitsu focuses on managing the distance, controlling your opponent through guards and pins, and executing submissions that include various strangleholds, chokeholds, and joint locks.
While many arts focus on striking only as a means to defend against an aggressive person, grappling is specifically useful for 1-on-1 confrontations, where the fight will inevitably end up on the ground. The person that can control the distance, from standing and from on the ground, can be the one that controls the amount of damage that can be done. We teach Brazilian Jiujitsu for it's practicality as a self-defense tool for smaller, weaker people, to dominate the positions on the ground, and to weave with other tools that may be needed across self defense scenarios (including multiple attackers). We also teach the sport of Jiujitsu through our Black Belt Team (BBT) and Adult class offerings.
